Some briefs are about a product. This one was about geography. Vodafone wanted to prove — visually — that its expanding national network actually works everywhere, not just in the capital cities. Working with Ogilvy, Cass Brothers Productions was engaged to produce the still photography that would carry that message.
The brief
Show real coverage in real places: major metros and regional hubs alike, with a consistent look across wildly different landscapes, so the campaign felt like one cohesive story rather than a patchwork of stock-style shots.
The shoot
Six days, six locations: Sydney, Mildura, Adelaide, Cairns and Tasmania, among others. We ran it as a single continuous production, managing logistics on the road so the crew, gear and lighting approach stayed consistent from a Sydney rooftop to a regional Victorian town. The result was 18 final stills featuring real Vodafone customers in their own environments, not staged studio setups.
Why the logistics were the hard part
A national campaign like this isn’t won or lost on any single shot — it’s won on consistency across a punishing schedule. Different light, different weather, different terrain, same visual language throughout. That’s the kind of production management we bring to any multi-location brand shoot, whether it’s five states or five suburbs.
The takeaway for brands planning multi-location content
If your campaign needs to prove something is true “everywhere” — coverage, retail presence, service reach — the photography needs to actually go everywhere too. Stock imagery and single-city shoots don’t hold up to that claim.
